Today class.......

Today Bro Chan came in for the class.(For you information, Sis Khoo went to Jakarta)

The main topic we discussed today is Food Fair.

Bro. Chan told us that this food fair is a great chance for us to learn. It let us open up ourself, learning speaking skill, gain confidences. He also taught us some living soft skills.....from his own experiences.

In life, one of the point is to be a good listener.By having a good listening skill, we can understand others, and can act according to instructions. When we developed our skills to a higher level, besides learning,we can take down the keywords, interprets it and dissolve...in our stomach.

Bro Chan also stressed on systematic works.A systematic work can determine how is a person. This plays a big role in the future......

SO back to the point.....

Helen The Baby Fox (14th Jly)

For this week , we had a Japanese movie entitled: Helen The Baby Fox.This was a 2006 film, written by Minoru Taketazu and screened by Masako Imai.
The story is about,

Leaving school for the day, seven-year old Taichi finds a baby fox alongside a road in rural Hokkaido. The two bond, and Taichi decides to leave the fox with the police as a lost item. The policeman on duty takes a reluctant Taichi and the fox to the local Yajima Veterinary Clinic. It turns out that Taichi has begun to live with Ko, the vet, and his teenage daughter Misuzu after his free-spirited mother Ritsuko has gone to Micronesia to work as a photographer. Many people have abandoned animals with Ko, and paying customers are few with most of his income coming from frequently boarding a friendly dog that is almost part of the family. Taichi feels abandoned as well, and clashes with Ko when the vet sees the new arrival as a burden, especially after discovering that the fox is deaf and blind. However, Taichi names it Helen after Helen Keller and attempts to bring her back to full health while teaching her about the world as sort of a young Annie Sullivan. Even though Taichi gets her to eat, Helen suffers increasing fits stemming from her damaged brain. Written by Brian Greenhalgh

Taichi effort and never gives up spirit encourage the little fox,Helen to continue her life.Instead of 3 days, the little fox had lived up to 3 weeks. It might be short, but for Taichi and his family....this period is like between spring and summer, leaving each others the best memory.

Sometimes, cares are the best medicine.

Graduate Lunch

10th May....
Today Sis Khoo brought the SPM graduates of ananda class for a lunch at the Curve,Empress Cafe.To celebrate our hard work after 12 years of study and for our whole new turning point of life.
Besides experienced some special and delicious foods, we had some small discussion together.About our future.....
Like what teacher used to said last time....The world is so big, there are lots for us to learn.Just about the difference in foods .It did remember us about the seven wonders in the world.Besides the "seven",there are still lot of wonders around the world that we dont know......so we must not stop learning
Besides that, we must have a good EQ.Useless for us to study to a high level but get lost in the communication skill.
Graduated from form 5 is another turning point inour life.Follow up is the new challenges, totally different things......A lot of decision to be made ...by ourselves.

So....graduates...all the best !!!!!

*p/s: due to off track in the post, the latest post will be on Wesak day.

April movie sharing session-- Fly Away Home

19th April 2008

In conjunction with April movie sharing session, we had shown the movie "Fly Away Home".

The story is about Amy (Anna Paquin) , a young teenager when she loses her mother to a car accident. Because of it, she moves in with her father (Jeff Daniels). Amy finds her new life absolutely miserable, until she finds abandoned goose eggs from when the developers tore up the forest behind her home. They soon hatch and Amy becomes their "mother" and takes care of them. Winter quickly arrives, and the geese must go south. But who will show them the way? It is up to Amy and her father to make sure that the young geese find their way, and with the assistance of her father's invention, they do just that

This indeed is a touching and inspiring movie.

So we have a short sharing session by Bro. Chook.Back to the point of nature, we as a part of nature really needs to do a lot for the others livng organisms in this world. As shown in the movie, the hunters are killing the geese just for their own desire.

Bro. Chook also mention about carbon-credit.Where people are doing sorts of activities to balanced back the carbon dioxide they make each days.
To adapt to a certain environment and weather, sometimes animals need migrate to other places. For examples are birds, aquatic animals......so,we as a human should protect and reserve the environment for the others so they will not extinct and continue livng.....
